You’re talking to someone who worked in the Office of NAFTA and Inter-American Affairs at the Department of Commerce during the Bush Administration so I’m perfectly comfortable saying that the USMCA is just a repackaged NAFTA with slight tweaks to quotas and technical requirements. NAFTA took a decade to negotiate and USMCA took a year. It’s essentially a marketing ploy to make Trump supporters think they scored a trade victory. Meanwhile, Trump’s tax cuts actually incentivize businesses relocating overseas. Is that what you call “winning”?
